Library and Technology at LSU Law During Spring 2020: Library Services and Resources

Library Services and Resources

The Law Library is currently CLOSED. Law Library staff are currently working from home, and are not able to come to campus or access the Law Library and its collections.

We are maintaining some basic services during this time, but because we cannot come to campus, some of our services must be places on hold. Services that we CANNOT offer during this time include:

  • Borrowing or lending through interlibrary loan
  • Retrieving or loaning print materials
  • Accessing court records

For information about the services we can offer during this time, please see the information below.

Faculty Services

Full-time LSU Law Center faculty should continue to contact their Law Library liaison for assistance with research and information resources during this time.

Adjunct and emeritus faculty should send us an email at lawfacref@lsu.edu

We will be responding to emails regularly between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, during this time. Due to the unusual circumstances, please excuse any delayed responses.

General Reference Services

Students, practicing attorneys, and members of the public are welcome to contact us for reference assistance during this time at lawreference@lsu.edu

We will be responding to emails regularly between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, during this time. Due to the unusual circumstances, please excuse any delayed responses.

Online Databases

The Law Library provides an A to Z list of our most-used databases here. All of the databases listed there can be accessed remotely using the links provided on the list. Many of the databases are available using the proxy server, which will prompt you to log on using your myLSU username and password. Other databases, such as Westlaw, Lexis, and Bloomberg Law, require you to enter a separate password for your individual account. Individual accounts have already been created for Law Center students, faculty, and staff. We are unable to provide access to Westlaw, Lexis, or Bloomberg Law to those outside the Law Center community.
