Tax Policy and Procedure: Nonprofit Tax Policy Organizations

ATPI´s primary purpose is to promote and facilitate non-partisan scholarly research analysis and discussion of U.S. federal, state and local tax policy issues. It supports cutting-edge scholarship in law, accounting or economics that will aid policy makers and administrators and improve our tax system.

A research office at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. OTPR supports and disseminates academic research on all aspects of the tax system, with the goal of informing discussion about the future course of policy.

The Tax Council Policy Institute (TCPI), which was created in 1997, is a non-profit and non-partisan public policy research and educational organization. TCPI was created to help bring about a better understanding of significant federal tax policies that impact businesses and the national economy through careful study, thoughtful evaluation and open discussion. TCPI is affiliated with The Tax Council, an association established in 1966 for senior level tax professionals who work together to promote sound federal tax policies and a better understanding of our federal tax system.

The Tax Policy Center is a joint venture of the Urban Institute and Brookings Institution. The Center is made up of experts in tax, budget, and social policy who have served at the highest levels of government.

The Tax Policy and Charities project analyzes the many interactions between the tax system and the charitable sector, with special emphasis on ongoing fiscal debates at both the federal and state levels.
